Line Up Registration Requirement for Participants. ISA will confirm via email.

September 2: Deadline for registration.
All payment/Line Up registration must be complete and received by the ISA, no exceptions.

September 15:
Managers’ Meeting with two representatives per National Team required to attend.
Heats and Schedule confirmed for Day 1 of competition.

September 16:

The parade in downtown Huntington Beach starts at 3 PM and the opening ceremony starts at 4 PM at Pier Plaza. 

September 17-18:
Competition (Open Men)

September 19:
Competition (Open Men & Open Women)
** Note, this will be the first day of competition for Open Women to allow for the participation of women competing in the Super Girl Pro.

September 20-23:
Competition (Open Men & Open Women)

September 24:
Finals Day (Open Men & Open Women)

WSL
– 2023 Tour:Highest-ranking 10 eligible men and 8 eligible women.

ISA WSG
– 2022 & 2024 The winning teams by gender, will qualify 1 place for their respective country. The NOC will nominate the surfer to participate following the conclusion of the Qualification System.
– 2023 Highest-ranking eligible man and woman per continent from Africa, Asia, Europe and Oceania (Total of 4 men and 4 women)
– 2024 Highest-ranking 5 eligible men and 7 eligible women

2023 PANAMERICAN GAMES
– Highest-ranking eligible man and woman in the surfing competitions will qualify a continental slot for the Americas.

HOST NATION
– One man and one woman will be guaranteed a place for the host nation of France. If an athlete(s) from France already qualified, the slot(s) will be reallocated to the next highest ranking eligible surfer(s) from the 2024 ISA WSG.

UNIVERSALITY PLACE
– This is meant to promote development, provide opportunity to smaller nations, and progress the sport on a global scale. One man and one woman will earn a Universality Place, as per the IOC selection criteria.

The event will take place from September 16-24, 2022 on the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier.

The International Surfing Organization (ISA), founded in 1964, is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the World Governing Authority for Surfing. The ISA governs and defines Surfing as Shortboard, Longboard & Bodyboarding, StandUp Paddle (SUP) Racing and Surfing, Para-Surfing, Bodysurfing, Wakesurfing, and all other wave riding activities on any type of waves, and on flat water using wave riding equipment. The ISA crowned its first Men’s and Women’s World Champions in 1964. It crowned the first Big Wave World Champion in 1965; World Junior Champion in 1980; World Kneeboard Champions in 1982; World Longboard Surfing and World Bodyboard Champions in 1988; World Tandem Surfing Champions in 2006; World Masters Champions in 2007; World StandUp Paddle (SUP, both surfing and racing) and Paddleboard Champions in 2012, and World Para Surfing Champions in 2015.

ISA membership includes the surfing National Federations of 109 countries on five continents. The ISA is presided over by Fernando Aguerre (ARG). The Executive Committee includes four Vice-Presidents Karín Sierralta (PER), Kirsty Coventry (ZIM), Casper Steinfath (DEN) and Barbara Kendall (NZL), Athletes’ Commission Chair Justine Dupont (FRA), Regular Members Atsushi Sakai (JPN) and Jean Luc Arassus (FRA) and ISA Executive Director Robert Fasulo as Ex-officio Member.

Its headquarters are located in La Jolla, California (USA).
